To best prepare, our military branches must constantly monitor for hostile threats. And as those threats become more sophisticated, so too must the detection methods. Northrop Grumman is helping to defend our nation and improve global security through sophisticated resources for intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance, or ISR, including improved radar systems and unmanned aircraft.

G/ATOR

G/ATOR is an incredibly versatile and mobile radar system that's protecting soldiers and civilians alike. It is more cost-effective to operate and maintain than traditional radar systems, and it offers additional benefits. For instance, it may greatly improve air traffic control capabilities, and it helps to accurately detect and engage enemy aircraft, missiles, rockets and artillery.

Global Hawk

Global Hawk is an unmanned aircraft system that can fly intelligence and reconnaissance missions without putting the lives of American pilots in danger. The U.S. Air Force currently relies on Global Hawk to support the war on terrorism, and is able to operate the aircraft abroad from a domestic mission-control station. The Global Hawk is equipped with electro-optical, infrared and synthetic aperture radar sensors to provide high-quality real-time imagery, helping the military respond to terrorist threats before it's too late.

Northrop Grumman is the premier shipbuilding agency. In fact, we are the only designer, builder and refueler of nuclear-powered aircraft carriers, and one of only two companies designing and building nuclear-powered submarines for the United States. We also build major surface ships for the U.S. Navy, the U.S. Coast Guard, international navies and various commercial shipping enterprises.

AIR MOBILITY

Extending the reach of U.S. military aircraft

The U.S. Air Force and other armed services employ some of the most advanced aircraft in the world in their missions to protect the peace. But for effective aerospace missions, landing to refuel or reconfigure isn't always an option.

Northrop Grumman engineers air mobility solutions that enable midair refueling, keeping the aircraft that protect us in the skies. Specifically, Northrop Grumman has designed and built the next-generation tanker, the KC-45, capable of refueling multiple aircraft at once. Plus, the KC-45 is interoperable between U.S. Air Force, Navy, Marine Corps and allied forces aircrafts flying the same mission.

In addition to its refueling capacity, the KC-45 is also flexible enough to:

• Carry cargo
• Transport passengers
• Assist with aeromedical evacuation
